Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Babu) by Lalu Prasad Shaw was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,635.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lalu Prasad Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman With Flower, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.635,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman With Flower beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81) versteigert wurde.
