In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online, which included this untitled work by Lalu Prasad Shaw. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,476.61), 37% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lalu Prasad Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman With Flower in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lalu Prasad Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.476,61) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman With Flower im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81).
