Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Untitled (Head) by Lalu Prasad Shaw. The price achieved of USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,575.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lalu Prasad Shaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woman With Flower in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Head) von Lalu Prasad Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.520,00 (€ 2.575,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Woman With Flower im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81).
