In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Woman Drinking From A Coconut) by Lalu Prasad Shaw. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,351.16), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lalu Prasad Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman With Flower, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).

Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Woman Drinking From A Coconut) von Lalu Prasad Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.351,16) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman With Flower beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81) versteigert wurde.
