Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lai Shaoqi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in August 2021. In the Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy in Lishu II sold for HKD 27,720.00 (€ 3,018.66) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lai Shaoqi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,770,000.00 (€ 194,809.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lai Shaoqi erzielte im August 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Lishu II für HKD 27.720,00 (€ 3.018,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lai Shaoqi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.770.000,00 (€ 194.809,41).
