The »bidding war« ended at USD 40,000.00 (€ 34,275.92), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kurt Seligmann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Witches in February 2015 with an auction result of GBP 173,000.00 (€ 238,541.31).

Die Arbeit The Flame Of Revolt von Kurt Seligmann wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 34.275,92) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kurt Seligmann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Witches im Februar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 173.000,00 (€ 238.541,31).
