Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Morning Sunshine, Longships from the Granite of Lands End, Cold Easterlies by Kurt Jackson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,478.79). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kurt Jackson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rabbit Fence, Wind Break, Runner Beans sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of GBP 15,300.00 (€ 17,406.71).
