Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kumi Sugai could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction, the work La Quête Sans Fin changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 849.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kumi Sugai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).
