Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nzombe ne Karwe by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami was auctioned at Phillips in London in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,512.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Skye Wanehanda (I) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 404,708.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nzombe ne Karwe von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami kam im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.512,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Skye Wanehanda (I) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 404.708,23).
