The work KWEKWE x HARARE x CAPETOWN WHEREVER YOU'RE FROM (2015) by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in London in July 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 81,900.00 (€ 96,044.73), 64% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kudzanai-Violet Hwami have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Skye Wanehanda (I) in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 404,708.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit KWEKWE x HARARE x CAPETOWN WHEREVER YOU'RE FROM (2015) von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 81.900,00 (€ 96.044,73) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kudzanai-Violet Hwami auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Skye Wanehanda (I) im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 404.708,23).
