Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tennis Girls by Koichi Sato was sold in the Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021. The price achieved of HKD 113,400.00 (€ 12,318.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Koichi Sato achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in April this year with an auction result of HKD 214,200.00 (€ 218,740.11).

Die Arbeit Tennis Girls von Koichi Sato wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 113.400,00 (€ 12.318,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Koichi Sato erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 214.200,00 (€ 218.740,11).
