Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work The Trade by Koak was worth GBP 40,320.00 (€ 46,972.35) to a buyer in October last year. This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Koak; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot To Be Touched, 2020 sold at auction in October 2021 with the realized price of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 47,389.20).
