The work Sagi Musume (The Heron Maiden), 1925 by Kitano Tsunetomi was sold in the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,942.75), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kitano Tsunetomi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28).

Die Arbeit Sagi Musume (The Heron Maiden), 1925 von Kitano Tsunetomi wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.942,75) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kitano Tsunetomi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.549,28).
