This artwork by Kitano Tsunetomi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Fine Japanese Art auction, the work The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. This high result makes The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) the most expensive artwork by Kitano Tsunetomi that we have observed at auctions so far.
