Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Beauty with a Fan by Kitano Tsunetomi was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,020.00 (€ 868.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kitano Tsunetomi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Beauty with a Fan von Kitano Tsunetomi im März 2021 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.020,00 (€ 868,60) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kitano Tsunetomi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Heron Maiden (Sagi Musume) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.549,28).
