Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Kikukawa Eizan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2013. In the The Japanese Aesthetic auction, the work Asagao from the series Azuma sugata Genji awase Eastern Figures Matched with the Tale of Genji, signed Kikugawa Eizan hitsu, circa 1818–23, and fifteen other bijin designs, signed Eizan or Kikugawa Eizan, various publishers sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,021.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kikukawa Eizan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kikukawa Eizan erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Japanese Aesthetic wurde die Arbeit Asagao from the series Azuma sugata Genji awase Eastern Figures Matched with the Tale of Genji, signed Kikugawa Eizan hitsu, circa 1818–23, and fifteen other bijin designs, signed Eizan or Kikugawa Eizan, various publishers für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.021,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Kikukawa Eizan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) im März 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.869,90).
