This artwork by Kikukawa Eizan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2013. In the The Japanese Aesthetic auction, the work A group of designs depicting bijin comprising twelve oban tate-e, one oban yoko-e, one triptych, three kakemono-e and three hashira-e, signed Eizan or Kikugawa Eizan, various publishers sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,314.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kikukawa Eizan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kikukawa Eizan erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Japanese Aesthetic wurde die Arbeit A group of designs depicting bijin comprising twelve oban tate-e, one oban yoko-e, one triptych, three kakemono-e and three hashira-e, signed Eizan or Kikugawa Eizan, various publishers für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.314,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Kikukawa Eizan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) im März 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.869,90).
