Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Phillips in 6 - held the auction Editions & Works on Paper: Online Auction, which included the work Self-Portrait by Kiki Smith. The price achieved of USD 508.00 (€ 479.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kiki Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 284,800.00 (€ 241,560.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Phillips in 6 - die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper: Online Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Portrait von Kiki Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 508,00 (€ 479,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kiki Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.800,00 (€ 241.560,64).
