Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Three untitled works on newsprint by Kerstin Brätsch was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,197.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kerstin Brätsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Quasi in rem in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 40,180.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Three untitled works on newsprint von Kerstin Brätsch im Februar 2019 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.197,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kerstin Brätsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Quasi in rem im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.450,00 (€ 40.180,83).
