Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Manager by Kerry Stewart was auctioned at Phillips in London in June 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,613.52). Admittedly, works by Kerry Stewart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sleeping Nun in February 2001 with an auction result of GBP 7,637.50 (€ 11,966.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Manager von Kerry Stewart im Juni 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.613,52) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kerry Stewart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sleeping Nun im Februar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.637,50 (€ 11.966,14).
