Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Casino At Nice by Keith Coventry was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keith Coventry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nice - Vue de l'Escalier le Sage in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 65,000.00 (€ 77,316.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Casino At Nice von Keith Coventry im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Keith Coventry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nice - Vue de l'Escalier le Sage im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 65.000,00 (€ 77.316,78).
