Each a woodblock print, aizuri-e, and comprising:
- The courtesan Hanaogi of the Ogiya house (Ogiya uchi Hanaogi), from the series Beauties from the Yoshiwara (Yoshiwara bijin), signed Keisai Eisen, censor's seal kiwame, published by Tsutaya Kichizo (Koiedo), circa 1830
- The Spirit of a Courtesan's Heart (Iki joro), from the series Pictures of Modern Figures (Tosei sugata no utsushi-e), signed Keisai Eisen ga, censor's seal kiwame, published by Kawaguchiya Chozo, circa 1835

The work Two aizuri-e woodblock prints by Keisai Eisen was sold in the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction at Sothebys in London in May 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,199.06), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Keisai Eisen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Courtesan in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two aizuri-e woodblock prints von Keisai Eisen wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.199,06) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Keisai Eisen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Courtesan im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 19.247,81).
