Three oban yoko-e erotic prints from the series Kyoka dai koino michikusa (Theme for the Kyoka Poems: Amorous Detour): the first titled Yuagari ni yoseru kakoimono (A mistress meeting her lover after visiting a public bath); the second, Shibai ni yoseru okujochu (Maid from a samurai household meeting her lover during a kabuki play outing); the third Nenshi ni yoseru onna tayu (A high-ranking courtesan meeting her lover after the New Year greeting); all unsigned. Each sheet approx., 25.5cm x 36.4cm (10in x 14 3/8in). (3).

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1825 by Keisai Eisen was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2021. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,796.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keisai Eisen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1825 von Keisai Eisen kam im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.530,00 (€ 1.796,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Keisai Eisen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Courtesan im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 19.247,81).
