This artwork by Keisai Eisen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction, the work Edo Period (1615-1868), 1820S sold for USD 11,475.00 (€ 9,911.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Keisai Eisen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Courtesan sold at auction in September 2004 with the realized price of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Keisai Eisen erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono wurde die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), 1820S für USD 11.475,00 (€ 9.911,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Keisai Eisen; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Courtesan im September 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 19.247,81).
