Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Kawayan De Guia was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 52,500.00 (€ 4,562.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kawayan De Guia - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior Complex, which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 13,986.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kawayan De Guia wurde im April 2011 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 52.500,00 (€ 4.562,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kawayan De Guia mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interior Complex beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 13.986,36) versteigert wurde.
