Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in New York held the auction AN IMPORTANT COLLECTION OF JAPANESE PRINTS, which included the work Katsukawa Shunko by Katsukawa Shunko. The price achieved of USD 3,107.00 (€ 2,850.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katsukawa Shunko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
