Auction result well in line with expectations

In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese And Korean Art, which included the work Katsukawa Shunko (1743-1812) by Katsukawa Shunko. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 790.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsukawa Shunko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in March 2003 with an auction result of USD 10,157.50 (€ 9,318.81).
