Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work This Beech #2 by Katja Strunz was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,859.43). Admittedly, works by Katja Strunz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work WHITE SPIRITUS (BACKVIEW) in September 2015 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,116.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit This Beech #2 von Katja Strunz im April 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.859,43) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katja Strunz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit WHITE SPIRITUS (BACKVIEW) im September 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.116,65).
