Upper estimate price exceeded by 89 %.
This artwork by Katharina Fritsch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work St. Nikolaus (St. Nicholas) sold for USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,875.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katharina Fritsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Geist und Blutlache in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 159,200.00 (€ 234,771.89).
