The work St. Katharina (St. Catherine) by Katharina Fritsch was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It achieved a price of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,729.80), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katharina Fritsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Geist und Blutlache in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 159,200.00 (€ 234,771.89).

Die Arbeit St. Katharina (St. Catherine) von Katharina Fritsch wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.729,80) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katharina Fritsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Geist und Blutlache im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 159.200,00 (€ 234.771,89).
