The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,513.81), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Heffner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch waterway at dusk, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.513,81) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Heffner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dutch waterway at dusk beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.238,11) versteigert wurde.
