The work On the banks of an estuary by Karl Heffner was sold in the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,513.81), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Heffner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch waterway at dusk, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).

Die Arbeit On the banks of an estuary von Karl Heffner wurde im Dezember 2006 in der Auktion British, Continental and Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.513,81) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Heffner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dutch waterway at dusk beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.238,11) versteigert wurde.
