This artwork by Karl Heffner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2012. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Sunset over the marshes sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,296.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Karl Heffner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Dutch waterway at dusk sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Karl Heffner erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Sunset over the marshes für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.296,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Karl Heffner; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A Dutch waterway at dusk im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.238,11).
