Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Autumn by Karl Heffner was auctioned at Christies in London in January 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,830.00). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Heffner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch waterway at dusk, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,880.00 (€ 4,238.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Autumn von Karl Heffner im Januar 2015 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.830,00) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Heffner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Dutch waterway at dusk beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.880,00 (€ 4.238,11) versteigert wurde.
