This artwork by Karel Dujardin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2014. In the Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art auction, the work Portrait of an old lady, half-length, seated in a chair holding her glasses and pointing at a book on a table sold for EUR 61,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Karel Dujardin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travelling Musicians in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 457,000.00 (€ 307,930.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Karel Dujardin erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait of an old lady, half-length, seated in a chair holding her glasses and pointing at a book on a table für EUR 61.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karel Dujardin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travelling Musicians im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 457.000,00 (€ 307.930,73).
