Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julio Alpuy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin America: Modern Art auction, the work Espiral changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 13,018.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Julio Alpuy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Construcción en madera in September last year with an auction result of USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julio Alpuy konnte im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin America: Modern Art wechselte die Arbeit Espiral für USD 13.750,00 (€ 13.018,37) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julio Alpuy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Construcción en madera im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65).
