The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 27,849.19), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julio Alpuy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Construcción en madera, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 81,900.00 (€ 83,716.65).

Die Arbeit Bogotá Nocturno von Julio Alpuy wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Property from the Estate of Bernard Chappard Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 27.849,19) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Julio Alpuy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Construcción en madera beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 81.900,00 (€ 83.716,65) versteigert wurde.
