Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Julie Mehretu was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,240.00 (€ 14,304.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julie Mehretu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Ground (Deep Light) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 44,209,000.00 (€ 5,032,271.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Julie Mehretu kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.240,00 (€ 14.304,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julie Mehretu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Ground (Deep Light) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 44.209.000,00 (€ 5.032.271,67).
