Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Time Out by Julie Blackmon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,154.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julie Blackmon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gum, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,644.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Time Out von Julie Blackmon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.154,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Julie Blackmon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gum beobachtet, die im April 2013 für USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.644,90) versteigert wurde.
