Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Samos Strait to Güllük Körfezi by Julian Schnabel was sold in the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The price achieved of USD 11,340.00 (€ 9,558.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Schnabel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ethnic Type #14 in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 1,452,500.00 (€ 1,220,793.41).

Die Arbeit Samos Strait to Güllük Körfezi von Julian Schnabel wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 9.558,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Schnabel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ethnic Type #14 im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.452.500,00 (€ 1.220.793,41).
