Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work On The Porch by Julian Alden Weir. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,452.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Alden Weir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nassau, Bahamas in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 459,000.00 (€ 393,316.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The Porch von Julian Alden Weir zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.452,45) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Alden Weir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nassau, Bahamas im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 459.000,00 (€ 393.316,20).
