Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julian Alden Weir could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work The Grey Trellis changed hands for USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,702.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Julian Alden Weir have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nassau, Bahamas in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 459,000.00 (€ 393,316.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julian Alden Weir konnte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit The Grey Trellis für USD 47.500,00 (€ 40.702,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Julian Alden Weir auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nassau, Bahamas im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 459.000,00 (€ 393.316,20).
