In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work My Own Fireside by Julian Alden Weir. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julian Alden Weir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nassau, Bahamas in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 459,000.00 (€ 393,316.20).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit My Own Fireside von Julian Alden Weir zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julian Alden Weir erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nassau, Bahamas im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 459.000,00 (€ 393.316,20).
