Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Charlie Don'T Surf by Jules de Balincourt was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,599.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules de Balincourt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work US World Studies II in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 277,250.00 (€ 337,161.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Charlie Don'T Surf von Jules de Balincourt im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.599,55) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jules de Balincourt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit US World Studies II im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 277.250,00 (€ 337.161,81).
