This work without title by Juan Downey was sold in the Latin American Sale Evening Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 13,656.81), 42% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Juan Downey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Juan Downey wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Latin American Sale Evening Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 13.656,81) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juan Downey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.694,14).
