Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work La voix humaine by Juan Downey was sold in the ART CONTEMPORAIN VENTE DU SOIR auction at Christies in Paris in June 2015. It achieved a price of EUR 21,250.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18 %. Admittedly, works by Juan Downey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).

Die Arbeit La voix humaine von Juan Downey wurde im Juni 2015 in der Auktion ART CONTEMPORAIN VENTE DU SOIR bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 21.250,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juan Downey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.694,14).
