Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selectramente by Juan Downey was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,084.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Juan Downey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).
