Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Invisible Energy In Chile Plays A Concert In New York by Juan Downey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,172.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Juan Downey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Invisible Energy In Chile Plays A Concert In New York von Juan Downey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.172,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juan Downey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chilean Nitrate Of Soda Potash im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 89.694,14).
