Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Homme à la mêche by Juan Cárdenas was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Juan Cárdenas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Night and Day, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,383.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Homme à la mêche von Juan Cárdenas kam im Juni 2016 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 12.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Juan Cárdenas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Night and Day beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.383,48) versteigert wurde.
