In March 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Protest Crowd, Moscow, Russia (Version 1) by Joy Gerrard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 938.00 (€ 1,184.32), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joy Gerrard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flag (Protest Against Brexit, London, June 2018) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,678.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im März 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Protest Crowd, Moscow, Russia (Version 1) von Joy Gerrard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 938,00 (€ 1.184,32) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joy Gerrard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flag (Protest Against Brexit, London, June 2018) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.678,06).
