Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Protest Crowd, London (Trump Visit Protest, Trafalgar Square, July 2018, Version 2) 2020 by Joy Gerrard was sold in the Irish Art, including Property from the Collection of Sir MichaelSmurfit auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 2,394.00 (€ 2,639.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joy Gerrard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flag (Protest Against Brexit, London, June 2018) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,678.06).
